Jason Smith hit 2 homers and Carlos Guillen hit a 3 run homer on route to the Tigers' 5-3 victory. Guillen's homer was his 13 of the season.

Knotts(5-3) pitched a great game going 6 2/3 innings while giving up only 2 runs. This was Knotts' first win in his last 5 starts.

Urbina closed the door in the 9th inning to pick up his 13th save in 15 tries.

The Tigers have now won 3 of their last 4 games.
